Wanda B Suroviak's Obituary
Wanda Suroviak was born June 26, 1916, in East Chicago, IN to Bertha and Frank Toporek. She passed away on Jan. 9, 2004 at her home, The Weatherly Inn. In 1993 she came to Lakewood to live with her daughter, Pat Hildebrandt, and husband Ed. She enjoyed playing sports in her youth, was a big Cubs fan and later loved the Mariners. She was a great bowler and an avid bridge player.Wanda is survived by her daughter, Pat, her sister Agnes, grandchildren Cheryl, Kathy, Scott, and Kevin and great grandchildren Christine, Hannah, Samantha, and Cole. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emil, her parents, and three brothers.Our heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Thomas Baker and his staff and the Franciscan Hospice Team. We especially want to thank the wonderful staff at The Weatherly Inn who cared for Mom with compassion, love, and dignity. We are so grateful for all you did for Wanda. The family suggests remembrances be made to the charity of your choice.A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, January 17, 2003 at 10:30 AM, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM at St John Bosco Catholic Church at 10508 112th St SW, Lakewood, WA. Internment will be in Merrillville, IN.
