We said our good byes to you today but you will always be in my heart and remain my "Brother" Uncle. We grew up together and I have many memories of the haying time in Winthrop, your horses and of course Pal your beautiful collie. When we got older our families spent so much time together on holidays, when you and Warren were diving buddies and the time you got that octopus and we marinated it in our garage and drove our cat crazy. You were always there for me and I will miss you terribly but I know you are in heaven with Mom and Grandma & Grandpa playing your guitar and singing. I'll see you again in heaven. Love you your "Sister" niece Judy.

Dear Jan and Family, So very sorry for your loss of Walt. He will be missed so very much. He was a unique human being. We feel so blessed to have had him as a friend for so many years. When Walt walked into a room his body language said it all.. He was a confident man full of fun, such a caring man and compassionate of his friends and love ones. Loyal, well I think he wrote the book on loyalty. Always a king word and a killer smile to make any ones day. He was loved and respected by his friends. Thanks for the memories Walt, you added so much to our family over the years. Rest well. The Eric and Leslie Smith family.

Dear Jan and Family,
We are so very sad over the recent passing of our friend Walt. We loved seeing him in the dental office when he would come in for his appointments...there was always time for a story or two with Walt! He loved to talk about growing up in the Methow Valley and he and my husband Bob could talk for hours about cars. Walt knew my father Joe Hermann
who was a Washington State Trooper. When Walt would come in to get his teeth cleaned
we would always chat about the many mutual friends my dad and he knew in law enforcement. My dad had so much respect for Walt and said many times there were few who could match Walt's dedication and devotion to serving his community. When my father had been ill Walt always made it a point to ask about how he was doing..." Say hello to Joe for me Debbie". When my dad passed a year ago, Walt couldn't have said nicer things about my dad. That was Walt. He always cared about others...you always knew Walt was your friend. We will miss this kind man who loved his family and made us feel special just knowing him. It was honor to call him a friend.

Jan and family, I am so sorry to hear of Walt's passing. I enjoyed working at the Sheriff's Department with him. I enjoyed sharing e-mails with him the past few years. He was a good person and he will be missed by so many people. Sincerely, Bonnie Petrequin
