Walter Robb's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Walter M. Robb, a loving husband, father,
brother, and friend. Walt passed away on his birthday, July 6th, 2023 at the age of 90. He lived in Spanaway, WA with his wife Eva Jo Robb.
Walt was born on July 6th, 1933 in Huntingdon, PA to Paul and Beulah Robb. Following high school, Walt left his hometown to join the Air Force where he spent the next 20 years and 8 days serving in our beloved Armed Forces. Walt’s time in service spanned airplane mechanics, he helped grow burgeoning bases, and worked in intelligence taking him around the world. Retiring in 1973 as a Master Sergeant in Arizona,
Walt soon relocated to Tacoma where he began a long career in Life Insurance for the NCOA, and also running a subagency for the Department of Licensing. Walt had 2 children, Valerie and Darin, raising them in Tacoma with his then-wife Shirley. Walt would continue on to run the Licensing subagency in Lakewood where he became a fixture in the community constantly meeting new people and socializing. Notably in 1981, Walt received a Key To The City of Tacoma by Mayor Mike Parker for being an upstanding, community-building citizen! In 1999 Walt married Eva Jo Robb and they enjoyed building their lives together over the past 27 years.
Walt is survived by his wife Eva Jo, daughter Valerie, son Darin, sister Peg and brother Carl, step-daughters Andrea and Kristi, stepsons Brett and Rich, grandchildren Ashley, Austin, Ben, Caitlin, Calvin, Charlie, Ellason, and Jack.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 18th at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, WA. A celebration of life reception will be held at Tacoma Country & Golf Club from 1:30 pm-4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Air Force Aid Society in memory of Walter Robb.
