Walter Preston BellWalter Preston Bell, age 62, was called home to join the greatest fisherman on August 29, 2007! Walt was born on March 12, 1945 in Covington, Tn. He is one of eight children born to Bennie and Sallie Bell!He attended Melrose High School in Memphis, Tennessee.Walt entered the USAF on May 25, 1979. He served in Thailand, Okinawa, San Antonio, Alaska, and in Chicksands England. He met his soul mate, Shyra (Pat) in England and they married on October 11, 1965. Together they raised two sons, Walter Jr, and Kenneth. He completed his Bachelor Degree in Business while in the military. He is a graduate of Chapman University.After retiring from the USAF, Walt began his second career with the Army Air Force Exchange Service in 1988 at Hqt AAFES. He was assigned to Ft. Lewis in 1990 and currently held the position of Food Court Manager.Walt was extremely proud of his grandsons, Walter III and Lorin! These young men were being mentored by Walt. Walter III shared his interest of books with his grandfather, and Lorin shared his grandfather,'s love of fishing! Walt experienced the Lord in nature.Walt was a fantastic cook and he fed the troops, AAFES associates, his family and friends. His creative and generosity attribute was exhibited throughout the many meals he prepared for people in his life!Walt was preceded in death by his beloved child, Kenneth Alexander, his mother, father and one brother. He is leaving his soul mate, Shyra, his son Walter, Jr, 2 grandsons, Walter III and Lorin, 4 sisters, 2 brother and numerous nieces and nephews.Services will be held at 10:00 AM, TODAY, August 31, 2007 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel.
