LTC Walter Maurice Hively, U.S. Air Force Retired's Obituary
WALTER MAURICE HIVELY, Lt. Col. USAF, died 14 September 2018.
Walt has joined his beloved Carmen in heaven where both are face to face with their Lord, Christ Jesus.
Colonel Hively was born 9 July 1923 and raised in Norman, Oklahoma. He moved to Lakewood with his family after retiring from the Air Force in 1965.
He enlisted in the Army Air Corps three days after Pearl Harbor, serving as an aircraft armorer prior to becoming a pilot of four engine aircraft. He was assigned to instruct pilots in the B-29 when he was twenty. After retirement he spent several years with the Boeing Aerospace Division, was involved in church and political activities, and worked with retiree and military fraternal organizations.
He was an active member of Berachah Church in Houston, TX and Lake City Community Church in Lakewood.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen, granddaughter, Richann Perdue and son-in-law, Richard Goyt.
He is survived by his son, Dennis M. of Lakewood, daughter, Reesa A. Goyt of Renton, grandchildren, Thomas L. Goyt(Hope) and Kristina E. Doyle(Christian) and great-grandchildren, Colton, Nathaniel, Conner, Madeleine and Christian.
Memorial services will be held 10 October 2018 at 1100, at Mountain View Memorial Park, Lakewood, WA.
