Walter G. Lewis,'s Obituary
Walter G. Lewis, Jr. went home on May 12, 2005. Born in New Orleans, LA on June 19, 1923, he was loved and admired by many. He retired from the United States Army, after 29 years of service, as a MSG in 1972. He received numerous military awards, including the Bronze Star Medal. He was an active member of Lakewood Lions, V.F.W., and a Mason.He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Katherine B.; his brother, Leroy; children: Linda (J.V.), Sharon, Everard, Ron (Donna) & Michael (Karen); grandchildren: Debbie, Emanuel (Sherri), LaShawn, James, Sean (Sabrina), Anthony, Everand II, Gerone, Chaela, Deidre, Yolanda, Michael Jr., Joshua, & Andre; great-grandchildren: Kabrina, Emanuel Jr., Carnell, Terrence, Sierra, Javen, Manny & Nito.Viewing will be from 12 Noon to 9 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 20, 2005 in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center, with a reception to follow.Walter will be remembered for his quick wit, thirst for knowledge, and his gentle and loving spirit. We love you. . . You will be forever in our hearts.
