Walter Ernest Catron's Obituary
Mr. Walter Catron, 90, of Tacoma, Washington died Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at Orchard Park. Memorial services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2006 in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center.Walter Ernest Catron, born March 31, 1915 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, was the only child of Madge Wood Catron and Henry John Catron. After graduating from school in Tennessee, he joined the National Guard. In 1958 he graduated from the National GuardÂ's school for specialized missile training. He was assigned as an Electronics Technician at Camp Murray where he worked until retirement.Walter married his loving wife of 44 years, Suzanne Snyder Catron in 1945. Together they had two children, John Curtis and Linda Sue. The family resided in Knoxville, TN, Carmel, CA, and Ft. Bliss, TX, before settling down in the Parkland area of Tacoma.Known to his friends as Walt, he was an avid seaman, ham radio hobbyist and tinkering enthusiast.Suzanne preceded Walter in death in 1989. Walter is survived by his son John, his daughter-in-law Karen, and his daughter Linda. He is also survived by his grandchildren Evan Catron, Blake Catron, Michelle White McGinty and Alicia White Olsen, and his great-grandson Maxwell Olsen.The family invites you to join them at the memorial service and following reception. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations might be considered to Franciscan Hospice at 2901 Bridgeport Way, University Place, WA.
