Walter LipscombWalt Lipscomb, Nov. 24, 1923-June 12, 2003, has gone to join his beloved wife Doris, of 47 years. Walt was retired from the US Army, and Champion (St. Regis). He was an avid gardener who kept his family and neighbors supplied with his homegrown crops. Longtime member of McKinley Ave. VFW. He was like the guardian of his neighborhood. Most days you could find him sitting in from of his house greeting his friends and neighbors. He is survived by his four children, Bud, Sharron, Sandy, and Karen; 6 grandchildren, Leslie, Tammy, Daniel, Mark, Lisa, and Danny, and 8 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Dean and Sam, and numerous nieces and nephews who reside in West Virginia. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all.A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 from 11am-9pm and on Thursday from 9am-12:30pm. The service will be on Thursday, June 19, 2003 at 2:00 pm in the Mt. View Garden Chapel.
