Walter Ellot Chappelear Walter (Babe) Chappelear, 87, passed away on February 2, 2014. Walter was born October 4, 1926 in Polk County, Wisconsin, and grew up in Ponca, Nebraska. He was a retired car painter and automotive shop manager. Walter is survived by his daughter Diana (Jim) Caruso and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Lenora, and brothers Marvin, Wallace, and Lesley. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII on the aircraft carrier USS Cape Gloucester. Walter was a hardworking man who enjoyed all sports and spending quality time with his family.
