Our beloved Wally gave his heart to the Lord and joined the angels in Heaven on December 29, 2003. Wally was born and raised in Fargo, ND. He is survived by his wife, June, of almost 49 years. He is also survived by his son, Gary; Read Obituary

Our heartfelt sympathy in your loss of a great guy. Also we all feel and will miss that great person, Wally in the musical world. Couple weeks ago when he joined us at Collins Grange, he did such a beautiful job (especially "In the Mood" and at break I had such a nice visit with him. Though you cannot always see the bird singing, if you listen with your heart, you can always hear his song. Though the ones we love may leave life as we know it, in our memory, the love we knew will always carry on. Dear Mrs. C, Gary, & Diane I was greatly saddened to see that your husband, and father Wally has passed. As a kid I remember spending wonderful weekend's at the Charlson's. I was often envious of the close wonderful relationship that Gary and Diane had with thier Dad. He was a kind considerate man to me, a not so fortunate big kid from a dysfunctional family. You guy's where the Cleaver's (leave it to beaver fame). Kind pretty mom, happy kid's and a fun happy go lucky Dad who provided well and cherished and loved his family very very much. I'll alway's remember Wally's ever present smile, laugh, a touch to the shoulder of a young boy who was not sure about himself or where he belonged but made to alway's feel comfortable cared for and welcome.
