Wallace G. Karr's Obituary
Gale Karr was born November 19, 1932 in Carthage, Missouri and following a full life that was marked by a deep devotion to his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ accepted his promotion to his Heavenly Home on February 3, 2017. He had an endless love for his wife and children, who brought him much joy. He always cherished and appreciated his friends and all those he encountered during his life. He leaves to mourn his departure his loving wife of nearly 58 years, daughter, Annette and son, Douglas, family and friends. He was a beloved husband, honored Father, and trusted friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Arneta Karr, brother, James W. Karr, and his twin brother Paul Dale Karr (Ruth) and niece Kari Karr.
He attended school in a one-room schoolhouse in Maple Grove, Missouri then graduated from Clover Park High School, Tacoma, WA in 1950. He attended Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, IL, and spent four years in the US Air Force. He retired from the Boeing Company 29 years.
He enjoyed traveling to The Philippines, Hong Kong, Macca, Main Land China, The Holy Land, Egypt, Moscow, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska and most all the United States.
He was a faithful servant to his Church serving as a children’s Sunday school teacher, deacon, home Bible study leader, usher and other areas where he was needed. His lifelong example of personal integrity’s exemplified by his Christian faith and his belief in the Lord Jesus.
His presence will be profoundly missed but his influence and contribution will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Interment will be held Friday, February 10th, 10:30am, at Mt View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499 for family and friends.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 18th, 1pm, at South Side Baptist Church, 626 South 86th St, Tacoma, WA 98444.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gale’s memory to South Side Baptist Church.
