Virginia Sampson's Obituary
Virginia Ruth Sampson was born on November 23, 1927 in Warner, Alberta, Canada to Buren S. and Ruth Skelton Hoyt. She came to the United States at age 17 and attended Lincoln High School in Tacoma. Upon graduation she worked for Pierce County Medical and then as a secretary for Northwest Door and Plywood and Martinolich Shipbuilding. She enjoyed gardening and was an excellent seamstress. She volunteered for the American Red Cross serving at senior centers.
Virginia had three brothers, James E. Hoyt of Belfair, WA, Robert D. Hoyt of Tacoma, WA and Don L. Hoyt of Tacoma, who predeceased her. Also, a son, Brent P. Sampson, who predeceased her. She is survived by a daughter, Judy Rae Johnson of Tacoma, WA and nieces, Rebecca (John) Miller of Yakima, WA; Kathleen Hoyt of Tacoma WA; Deborah Wilbur and Jennifer Longdail of AZ. Also, a nephew, Don L. Hoyt, Jr. of Tacoma, along with a number of great nieces and nephews. At her request there will be no services.
