Virginia McFadden French's Obituary
Virginia passed away on Friday Nov. 5, 2010. She was born in Seattle on Oct. 21, 1919, and came to Tacoma one year later, remaining there the rest of her life. She graduated from PLC in 1940. For 50 years she was the organist for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she also directed the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her daughter Eileen, her parents Leslie and Alma McFadden, a brother, Leslie T. McFadden, and a sister, Doris Willis. She is survived by four children: Howard French, Marvin French and wife Vivian, Allan French and wife C lia, and Beverly Carberry and husband Bill. Other survivors include her six grandchildren, Jon, Crystal, Rose, Jocelyn, Dawn and Shannon, three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Paityn, and Ryker, a brother, Ralph McFadden and wife Alice of Ogden, Utah, and a brother-in-law, Jim Willis of Twin Falls, Idaho. Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 140 E. 56th St. in Tacoma, on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 10:30AM. Viewing will be on the day before (Nov. 8) from 1-9PM at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. Donations may be made to the Virginia French Memorial Fund c/o Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
