Virginia M. Potts' Obituary
Virginia M. Potts
September 1, 1920 - February 12, 2009
She was born Virginia M. Pentecost to Harold & Agnes in Starbuck, Washington. Virginia then moved to Tacoma where she lived until 1976 when she moved with her husband Art to -Å"the farm- in McKenna. She lived
the final 29-years of her life there along with a number of canine companions and over the years there were many!
A wayward pooch could always find a loving hand, a kind word, plenty of food and a warm place to sleep when Virginia was involved. There were many times when we would visit Virginia only to be greeted by a new dog. Taking care of her four-legged friends gave her great joy. In fact, Virginia was happiest outdoors with her dogs, walking the 5-acres, taking care of the land or just sitting on the porch with her pets and looking at the magnificent view of Mt. Rainier.
She made many of us happy in many ways, but within the family she will long be remembered for her incredible black cap blackberry jelly and sneaking the grandkids an extra piece of her fabulous fudge when their parents weren't looking.
Virginia was a lifetime honorary member of Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County.
In 1989, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Art. She is survived by daughter Diane Edwards of Puyallup, sons Ray Potts of Florida, and Gary Potts of Puyallup. She had 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren in addition to many nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff of Life Care Center of Puyallup where she lived for the past 3 years. She made many friends there and had many good times.
Services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home on Saturday February 21, 2009 at 11:00 in the Garden Chapel with a reception immediately following in the Celebration of Life Reception Hall.
In lieu of flowers, you could really make Virginia's tail wag in Heaven by sending a donation to the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County 2608 Center Street, Tacoma, WA 98409 (253)383-2733.
