Virginia L. Alley's Obituary
Virginia Lee Alley, 91, of Tacoma, WA, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Tacoma General Hospital. Public viewing Thursday, Sept. 11, 7-9 p.m., and graveside services 2:30 p.m. Sat., Sept. 13, 2008 at Mt. View Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Church of Christ, 1801 112th Street South, Tacoma. Contributions can be given to the Hungarian Mission Fund, made out to University Church of Christ, 24255 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA, 90263. Virginia was born August 5, 1917, in Tarsney, MO, the daughter of Earnest and Alice (Brown) Lang. She married Ralph Temple Alley on October 5, 1935, and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1997. One sibling also preceded her in death. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, currently a member at the Lakeview Church of Christ. She was an active member of the Senior's class, helped make thousands of Care Bears for children in need, and was a devoted member of Women for Christian Education. Her survivors include one son, Clifton Alley of Tacoma, WA, and two daughters, Patty Dowdey and husband David of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Linda Kay Alley of Seeley Lake, MT, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, two sisters, and two brothers. Virginia touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
