Virginia Jackson Woodworth's Obituary
Virginia Jackson Woodworth passed away on August 1, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband J. Alden Woodworth of Woodworth & Company, Inc. She was born in Seattle on July 24, 1909 to Frank and Bertha Jackson. She attended Roosevelt High School and the University of Washington, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and was a charter member of the Dr. Edward Rich Orthopedic Guild in 1939. Virginia shared Alden's hobbies, which over the years included photography, tropical fish, orchid growing, boating, and fishing. She is survived by her son John Woodworth (Judy), her daughter Alice Charron (Chris), two grandchildren, Jeff Woodworth (Nancy) and Jill Swenson (Jeff), 5 great-grandchildren, her sister Barbara Tourtillott, and many nieces and nephews. Virginia's family wishes to extend its deepest gratitude and thanks to Jay Kim at Soundview Adult Family Home, and Franciscan Hospice. A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the Woodworth Family Endowment for Respiratory Care at Multicare Medical Center.
