Virginia E. WainhouseVirginia was born on August 9th, 1923 in Tacoma, Washington and passed away peacefully at home on August 28th, 2002. Born to Ethel and Leo Barton, Virginia spent her entire life in the Parkland area. She graduated from Lincoln High School where she met and then later married her loving husband of 60 years, Robert Wainhouse. Virginia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with a passion for gardening, sewing, quilting, genealogy and Northwest history. Her greatest love, however, was her family. Her hand made quilts, a symbol of her gentle kindness, will forever be cherished by all family members and friends. An avid volunteer, she generously gave her time and talents to the Washington State Historical Society Museum, Point Defiance Park and W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory.She is survived by her husband, Robert Wainhouse, daughter, Sharon Wainhouse, son, Leo (Kathy) Wainhouse, grandchildren, Danielle (James) Jackson, Zemorah (Brian) Murray, Christopher Wainhouse, Patrick Wainhouse, great-grandchildren, Lauren and Claire Jackson.A Memorial Service celebrating Virginia's life will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Valley Chapel.
