Virgina Ida Philes' Obituary
Virginia Ida Philes also known as Ginger, Aunt Ginger or Nanny was born on January 7, 1921 in Tacoma, Washington. Virginia passed away on March 18, 2020 in Puyallup, Washington at the age of 99.
Virginia left behind her son Larry Philes and daughter-in-law Rose Philes; Three granddaughters, three grandsons, and four great grandsons. A host of nieces and nephews, and her friends Jim, Judy, and Vivian who were like family to her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Romayn Philes, parents Ida and Larry Jones, three brothers and two sisters.
Virginia married the love of her life Romayn Philes on November 8, 1941. Soon after they married their niece Natalie came to live with them. Then in July of 1949 their son Larry was born.
Virginia loved her family and taking care of them was important to her. She had many years of fun with her family and friends at their lake house on lake St. Clair. She also loved her yard, especially loved her roses and daffodils when they were in bloom.
Virginia was a strong and gracious lady who was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed and never forgotten.
Virginia would always say I hope my Romayn recognizes me when I see him again. Virginia is now with her loving Romayn.
Because of the covid19 virus the family will have a celebration of her life at a later date.
