Violeta Estrella Smith's Obituary
In loving memory of our mother Violeta Estrella Smith who passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2023, at the age of 97. Violeta was born in Manila Philippines on September 28, 1925. She is one of 14 children of Victorina San Martin and Elpidio Estrella.
A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Violeta was the widow of Robert P Smith and is survived by her two daughters Marilyn Wittig and Elizabeth Horne; grandchildren Erin Smith, Tiana Brockway-Horne, Brandon Brockway and Bo Wittig; and great grandchildren Kahele Smith Crabtree, Kaylana Smith Strickland, Kalia Strickland, Wren Brockway and Rhodes Brockway; as well as her brother Isagani Estrella and her sisters Edna Smalts and Milagros Ortanez.
Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was always there for us. She was a skilled seamstress and loved gardening, cooking, dancing and traveling. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Mother, you will always be in our hearts, and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be available from 10am-4pm Tuesday August 8, 2023, at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA.
A Vigil will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday August 9, 2023, followed by her funeral mass at 11:00am at St. Francis Cabrini church, 5715 108th St SW, Lakewood, WA. Interment to be held directly afterwards at Mountain View Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA followed by a celebration of life in the Willow room.
