Viola F. Waisath's Obituary
VIOLA FERNE (GIBLER) WAISATH was born 17 July 1920 in Rutledge, Missouri, and passed away of natural causes 6 October 2019 in Tacoma, Washington. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Waisath, to whom she was married for 67 years, and the only daughter, Helen Marie (Waisath) Minter. She is survived by her son, Walter, Jr. (Linda Shaffer). As the matriarch of a blended family, she is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
As a military wife, she was able to travel the world and introduced her children to a variety of different cultures and experiences in Asia and Europe. She was inducted into the Tacoma Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1996. She was a kind, sweet, funny, interesting woman and we will miss her a lot.
Thank you to Mary Hodgson and her staff at Best of Oakes Adult Living Facility for the care and love they gave Mom. Special thanks to her grandson Wade Minter who spent so much of his free time doing all he could to help his grandmother through these last couple of years.
Please honor the life and memory of Viola by leaving cherished memories, messages, and photos for her family on the guestbook page
