Vincent "Vince" Broadwater's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vincent W. Broadwater, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Vince peacefully passed away on September 15, 2025, at 10:29 AM, at the age of 87.
Born in Barton, Maryland, on November 6, 1937, Vince dedicated over 20 years of his life to serving his country as a Flight Engineer in the United States Air Force, retiring from Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Lakewood, Washington. After his military career, Vince became an integral part of the Lakewood community, where he owned and operated an auto and marine repair shop in Lake City, WA for 40 years, building relationships and friendships that spanned generations.
Vince was a proud and loving husband to his wife, Cheryl Broadwater, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Together, they raised two daughters, Audra and Debbie, and welcomed a growing family that includes ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Vince was also the father of two daughters from a previous marriage, Leesa and Stephanie. He was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. Whether it was gathering around the dinner table, traveling in his RV, or sharing stories, he was a constant presence in the lives of those he loved.
A man of many passions, Vince was an active member of the Lakewood Moose Lodge, where he made lifelong friends and was involved in various community activities. He was also a huge football fan, and his love for the Dallas Cowboys was well known. Vince enjoyed watching games with family, often adding his own commentary and showing his unwavering support for his team.
Vince’s presence was felt not only in his family but in his community. He was a true pillar of the Lakewood area, a hardworking, reliable, and generous man whose legacy will live on in the many lives he touched. His shop was more than just a business; it was a gathering place where people knew they could count on him for advice, help, and a kind word.
Vince is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughters Audra and Debbie; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-granddaughter; and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Leesa.
A celebration of life will be held at the Lakewood Moose Lodge on Nov. 15, 2025 at 2 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor Vince’s memory, share stories, and celebrate his remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
Vince’s life was a testament to dedication, service, and love. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend—someone whose impact will never be forgotten.
