Victor Hackney's Obituary
Victor Hackney, 78 of Lakewood, Washington, son of Victor Hackney Sr and Alice Hackney-Morgan, Lindell Morgan (stepfather) passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, following a brave battle with pneumonia. A proud veteran, devoted father to his son Vince, and Grandfather to Vince Hackney Jr., Victor will be remembered for his steadfast generosity and his lifelong commitment to helping others.
Born on December 7, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, Victor was instilled with a strong sense of discipline, responsibility, and compassion; values that guided him throughout his life. Victor dedicated 24 years of his life to serving his country, retiring as a decorated Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army. His military service was a source of great pride and shaped him into the disciplined and dedicated man his loved ones knew. Following his retirement from the Army, Victor continued his commitment to service in the local community. Victor is survived by his son, Vince Hackney; daughter-in-law, Yvette Pennetta; Vincent Hackney Jr; Linda Miller (Larry); John Hackney (Ann); Lou Alice Nickson; Milton Nero; and Gabrielle Fischer. Preceded in passing,(James, Mitchell, Michael, Benny, Betty Hackney-Laramore), as is also survived by a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His fellow service men and women who walked this trail with him to defend this country, and Jean, the love of his life for the past 42 years. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who benefited from his unwavering kindness.
