Victor Cheong's Obituary
Mr. Victor Cheong, age 66, passed away in Tacoma, WA. He is safely with the Lord after a valorous battle with cancer. He went peacefully in his home on February 5, 2016.
The second son of Chi Yin & Yin Hwa Chan, he was born and grew up in Rangoon, Burma. He moved to the United States in the 70’s and shortly after enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served 20 years as a Medical Technologist and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class. The military gave Victor the opportunity to travel to many different places and meet many different faces. He loved telling stories of his adventures and all the delicious food he experienced. He was able to call Tacoma, WA his home for the past 30 years where he and his wife raised two beautiful children. After his military retirement, Victor continued his career with Tacoma General Hospital until he fully retired in August 2014.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Annie (Choo) Cheong of Tacoma, WA; son, Clinton Cheong and partner, Michelle So of Belmont, CA; daughter, April (Tennyson) Cheong and husband, Tyler Tennyson of Lynnwood, WA; older brother, David Chang and wife, Minnie Chang of Daly City, CA; younger brother, Danny Chang and wife, Michelle Chang of Daly City, CA; younger brother, Sam Chang and wife, Ratana Chang of San Francisco, CA; brother in-law, Danny Penrose of San Francisco, CA; many wonderful nephews & nieces; and “grand-doggie”, Missy whom he enjoyed feeding waffles every morning.
He is preceded in death by parents, Chi Yin & Yin Hwa Chan and sister, Mimi (Chang) Penrose.
