Vicki Rae Earwood McCollom's Obituary
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Vicki R.E. McCollom, who left this world on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the age of 68. Vicki was born on April 11, 1957, in Nelsonville, Ohio, and although her journey took her many places, her heart was always anchored by the people she loved most.
Vicki spent her early years in Ohio before moving with her family to Washington State—a place where she would build a beautiful life filled with purpose, connection, and endless warmth. She attended Central Washington University, earning her bachelor's degree and 7 minors, most importantly, meeting the love of her life, Loren McCollom. From the moment they found each other, their lives became intertwined in a love story marked by faith, partnership, and countless shared adventures. They married in 1981 and together created a home overflowing with laughter, memories, and unwavering devotion.
A woman of boundless compassion, Vicki lived a life rooted in service. She was an active member of her church, a dedicated supporter of the Special Olympics alongside her daughter Rabbecca, and a proud contributor to more than 50 years of Girl Scouts involvement. Vicki had a gift for bringing people together—whether planning family gatherings, encouraging others with gentle words, or simply offering a comforting presence. She loved traveling, making memories, and capturing moments that would become treasured stories for generations.
Vicki is survived by her loving mother, Carolyn Earwood; her devoted husband, Loren McCollom; and their cherished children:
• Jennifer McCollom Hensley (Stephen Hensley)
• Christoffer McCollom (Rachel; children Daisy, Brady, and Parker)
• Michael McCollom (Chrissy; children Conner and Griffin)
• Steffanie Wilson (Devon; children Carsten, Ihan, and Emmett)
• Stacie Hase (children Irene and Brettney)
• Holly Anderson (Bailey Hixon and family)
• Joseph Anderson (Stephanie; grandchildren Armond Calhoun and Destiny Lemoine; great-grandchild Savasion Calhoun; and children Skylar Anderson McCollom, C.W. Anderson McCollom, and Tori Anderson McCollom)
Vicki is further survived by many extended family members and numerous loved ones whose lives were touched by her generous spirit.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Earwood; her beloved daughter, Rabecca Earwood McCollom; her sister, Jill Davidson; and her younger sister, Virginia Davidson.
There is no single word that captures what made Vicki special—because everything about her was special. She was the kind of person who would give you the world just to make sure you were okay. Her love was unconditional and her compassion limitless. Vicki welcomed people not just into her home, but into her heart. She loved fiercely, supported wholeheartedly, and gave freely without expecting anything in return. Her presence was a soft place to land, a source of comfort, and a reminder that kindness is a powerful gift.
Vicki will be laid to rest at Ritzville Cemetery in Ritzville, Washington, a peaceful place where her spirit will rest surrounded by love.
“Her love carried many, her heart embraced all, and her legacy will forever live in the lives she touched.”
May her memory be a blessing, a comfort, and a guide for all who were fortunate enough to know her.
