Veronica Strand Beitia's Obituary
VERONICA STRAND BEITIA passed away peacefully in her home on
September 27,2025. Born in Bremerton, WA on July 11, 1975, she
moved with her family to Lakewood, WA at an early age where she
lived until her passing. A graduate of the Clover Park School
District, she began her working career at Lenscrafters in the
Tacoma Mall and it was there she decided to become an Optician
and found employment at Costco in Puyallup for 24 years. She
garnered respect and admiration from colleagues and customers
alike and was seen as a mentor to new employees and was a favorite
with return customers, many coming from out of town for her
assistance.
Veronica was a benevolent member of the community. She was an
excellent cook and for years would prepare mounds of food that she
and friends would distribute among the homeless. She never turned
anyone away who was in need.
In addition to being a culinary goddess she was also known as a
crafting queen. She had the ability to turn poster boards into works
of art, and made many clever creations from minimal supplies and
her imagination, often becoming keepsakes reflecting her love and
sentimentality towards her family and friends.
A true fashionista, she made a statement when she would walk into a
room with her radiant smile and long flowing auburn hair, wearing
leopard skin chic and her huge trademark hoop earrings. She truly
enjoyed girly activities, manicures and pedicures, shopping and
lunches.
Throughout her life, she loved attending concerts, travelling to new
places, family celebrations and holidays, but her happy place was at
the microphone for karaoke nights at local clubs. She treasured her
2 “fur sons” black cats Sonic and Prince. Wherever she went she left
her beautiful spirit and whoever she encountered, her loving heart.
Veronica’s legacy is one of compassion, generosity, warmth and
kindness. She is the beloved daughter of Sharleen Hendrickson,
and the precious niece of Aunts and Uncles Sharry& Micheal
O’Hara, Mo& Mark Davis, Leslie & Bob Berra, Terry O’Hare, Joyce &
Dick Strand and honorary uncle, Ray Lein of Bremerton. In her short
time on this earth, Veronica spread so much sunshine and
goodness. She will be missed, she will be remembered
