Vernon Dale DeLaVergne "Vern"
August 4, 1935 - June 21, 2021
Vernon Dale DeLaVergne, 85, died unexpectedly on June 21, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born August 4, 1935 in Velva, North Dakota, the son of Roy H. and Ellen A. (Hagen) DeLaVergne. Vern served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956. Following the Navy, Vern owned and operated an upholstery business until his retirement, along with Automotive Shop of Lakewood.
Vernon was blessed with a large family and is survived by: his daughter Judy and significant other Bob Nealer of Seattle and grandchildren, John and Mary Jo; son Vernon and wife Leslie of Yelm and grandchildren Lisa, James, and Danielle; Daughter Gwendalyn and husband Lehman Baker of Pe Ell and grandchildren Neil, Jerrad (deceased), Shawndale, Miles, and Jordan; son Roy and wife Lisa of Puyallup and grandchildren Eric and Jennifer; daughter Christina (Tina) and husband Bruce Nelson of Puyallup and grandchildren Verna; Veronique and husband Ken Masterman of Florence, OR; Bud and wife Angela Nelson of Florence, OR; and many foster grandchildren including: Caleb, Mason, Allan, Bryan, Myles, Khloe, Keith, Kevin, Robert, Dallas, David, Heather, Mark, Ingrid, Carl, Meghan, Travis, JC, Johnny, Michael W., Kyle, Zach J., Zach T.,, Daniel, Dylan H., Dylan W., Shawn, David J., Anthony, Jacob, Terry, Justin, Kayla, Keith S., Michael C., Mike, Josh C., Josh M., Kyle B., Jeremiah, Tezz, Tami, Fred, Adam, Charlie, and others. He also was blessed with many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends, and ex-wife Dixie Hagen.
A service of remembrance will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499 on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 11:30 AM followed by a graveside service.
