Vernon D. Hawkinson's Obituary
Vernon D. HawkinsonVern was born in Elbow Lake, Minnesota on December 7, 1932 to Ruby and Arthur Hawkinson. He died from complications of pneumonia on September 23, 2006 in Lakewood. Vern was a charter member of the Lakewood Elks #2388, as well as a member of the carpenters Union and the Operating Engineers Local 302.He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan, his son Dennis, and his daughter Susan (Sue). He is also survived by his siblings Dee (Loren), Kenny (Marleen), Joanne, Keith (Cheryl), Loel (Lori), and Colleen, as well as many nieces and nephews.Special thanks to the Lakewood Fire Department Paramedics, St. Clare Emergency Room and I.C.U. staffs for the outstanding care they gave, as well as the prayers from our many friends.Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 30, 2006 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia Foundation in VernÂ's name.
