The first thing I noted about Vernetta was her genuine smile and quiet, caring nature. Over 35 plus years we have supported each other raising our children, with the Black’s in Government Conference and Juneteenth Celebration that she established on her Job. Vernetta was a skilled coordinator and everyone looked forward to this cultural event, especially the humongous Soul Food Potluck! And she was the best dress looking so regal in African attire. I thank God for the gift of a beautiful friend and many wonderful memories and I pray for God’s peace and comfort in your loss.
