Verna Mae Graciano's Obituary
Verna Mae Graciano went home to her Lord Jesus on April 27, 2016, at the age of 87. Verna was born to Raymond and Margaret Hiscox, on July 12, 1928, in Tacoma, WA. As a young woman, Verna graduated from Lincoln High School. She married Joseph Medina Graciano in 1946, and continued her education at San Jose Bible College, and eventually at Imperial Valley College and Pacific Lutheran University. Having received her teaching certificate, Verna taught her entire career in the Bethel School District.
Verna had committed her life to Jesus Christ when she was nine years old, and involved herself in Christian ministry throughout her adult life, beginning with seven years on the mission field. She was a long time member and organist of Lakewood Baptist Church, and supported and encouraged her sons and grandchildren in their ministry endeavors.
Verna is survived by her daughter Erlinda Compton (Doug), and sons Roderick (Kaaren), Jonathan (Kathy), and Lynn (Carrie), as well as her sister Nancy Berry (Paul). Verna took great delight in her twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Verna will be greatly missed by all, but all who knew her rejoice that she is now in the presence of the Savior she so loved.
