Verna Jean Holstine De La Garza's Obituary
Verna was born January 12, 1937, in Whiteville, Arkansas to Hugh and Lydia Holstine and passed away September 5, 2018.
She married Del De La Garza, a career Army Sergeant, in 1954. To this union six children were born, Cynthia, Anthony (Tony), Patricia (Trish), Brook, twins Brad and Brent and to a subsequent union Wendy Matlock was born before Verna rejoined the family.
She is survived by five children and two brothers: Bill (Billie), Jay (Lee) and one sister: Judy Funke (Fred).
She was preceded in death by Del, Cynthia and Wendy, her parents and seven siblings.
She will be inurned at a grave site family service at the Mountain View Cemetery September 26, 2018, at 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial to Verna may be made to a charity of choice in her name and if you wish posted on the Tribute Wall.
Verna was never for a lot of pomp and circumstance, so it is in keeping with her wish that her obituary is brief, her inurnment is a grave site family service and somewhat private and that her obituary not be posted in news papers.
