Veranetta Williams' Obituary
On March 1, 2018 Mother Williams went home to Glory at the age of 92. Vera, or “Bambi” as she was known to her grands and great-grands, was born January 15, 1926, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Willis Williams and Marilee Winters, and accomplished much during her time on this earth. Vera served as a faithful pastor’s wife and church mother alongside her husband Reverend George Jackson at The House of Prayer COGIC for almost 40 years. She also became a Licensed Practical Nurse who owned and operated Constant Care Private Duty Nurses Registry, a service through which she employed and dispatched nurses throughout the city of Tacoma.
Not the least of her accomplishments was raising seven biological children: Marvin, Nathanael, Joyce, Douglas, Michael, Helen, Joseph, step-children Georgia and Johnny, and later DeWitt. In time, numerous others would come to know Bambi’s house as a State run receiving home, nurturing many youths and sharing the love of Christ.
Homegoing services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, in the Aspen Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home, Memorial Park and Cemetery in Lakewood, Washington.
