Vera L. Ferari's Obituary
Vera L. Ferari passed away peacefully on April 25, 2008 at the age of 85. Preceded in death by her husband Ed in 2002, Vera is survived by her sons, Bob (Anne) Ferari and Al (Susi) Ferari; grand daughters Jennifer (Cory) Shears and Tina (Cory) Ferari-Zimmerman; great grand children Tyler, Sydney and Emma Ferari-Zimmerman and Hadley Shears. Two brothers: Lisle Meadows and Curtis (Sally) Hutchin; and sister Clara (Duane) Morris. Vera was born and raised near Durango, Colorado. She came to Tacoma during the war years, to work at Ft. Lewis. In 1945 she met and married Ed Ferari. Vera retired from St. Regis Paper Co. in 1983 after 30 years of service. Vera and Ed loved to fish, hunt and picnic in the mountains. She will be forever remembered by all her family and friends for her wonderful pies, pastries and pickle-making skills! Vera was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. After 58 years in her South Tacoma family home, Vera moved to Mill Ridge Village in Milton, WA where she enjoyed many new and old friends and lots of activities. After a short illness she moved to Village Green in Federal Way, and finally to Sarah's Place in Pt. Orchard, WA. The family will be forever grateful to the wonderful staff at Sarah's Place and Franciscan Hospice (Susanne and Rob) for the compassionate care our Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma received. A special thanks to the best care givers ever: Mary, Carolyn, Sherrie & Kathryn. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or to Franciscan Hospice, PO Box 1502, Tacoma 98401. Services will be held at 1:00 pm, April 30, 2008 at Mountain View Cemetery in the Aspen Chapel.
