Vada J. Hadway's Obituary
Born: Heidelberg, Germany, 17 August 1956. Died: Tacoma, Washington, 17 May 2016
Vada was preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Barney Leonard.
Vada was a talented multimedia artist winning awards for her graphic designs, pottery creations, clothing motifs and parade float designs.
She was a skilled bowler, a great cook, cartoonist and protector of animals.
Vada embraced her native heritage and was active in Indian Education and the Gathering.
Above all things on this earth, she loved her family and is survived by her husband: William, her daughters: Lila (Angela) and Frances, and her son Matthew (Kym), her grandchildren: Jazmyn, Alex, Mark, Brandon and Michael. Vada is also survived by her sister, Ola Leonard and many cousins.
Vada had a generous heart and many kind, loyal friends. The support and love shown the family by these friends has made the family’s sorrow just a bit easier to bear.
Our sincere thanks to the staff of Tacoma General Hospital for their respectful, skilled and compassionate care.
In the last few hours of her life, Vada spoke thanks and praise for Dr. Francois Beltran, Dr. Matt Davis and I.C.U. Nurse Richard and wanted you three, especially, to know the gratitude and admiration she felt for you.
Donations for Vada’s final expenses may be forwarded to:
