Uwarda Day, 93, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2003 after a rich and fulfilling life. She was born on January 16, 1910 in Preston, Idaho to John and Ann Egley. Moving to Seattle she graduated from Roosevelt High School and Read Obituary
I remember Mrs. Day from a Victoria to Maui sailboat race party that she hosted at her lovely home in 1988. Her son Hollis and I have sailed a lot together including races to Hawaii. The Days gave each crewmember on Warrior a beautiful picture of the boat at the start of the race. You remember that I didn't meet Wardie until she was in her 70's. I most remember a pre-ski morning when she was hanging out in the kitchen in her long johns. She was a little hippy but rather sexy. She was wearing her Audrey Hepburn look that morning. She was very charming and very accepting. We had many great conversations. A favorite memory of your mother, soon after I arrived in Seattle, in 1987, and expressed some trepidation at shopping in certain local stores, was her looking at me quite seriously, and saying "Don't be afraid of I.
