Ursella E. Jordan's Obituary
On September 17, 2023 Ursella Jordan passed for death to everlasting
life quietly at Eliseo with her family by her side. Ursella was born
June 14, 1927 in Panama Canal Zone. In 1970, Ursella moved to New
York to be closer with her son Wesley and his wife, who were stationed
at Fort Dix in New Jersey. In New York, Ursella worked as a
seamstress as well as working in a factory. She also spent time
working as a nanny. Her hobbies were reading, crocheting, and
watching church on TV.
After Wesley retired from the U.S. Army in 1992, we moved her to
Tacoma, WA to be close to us. It was in Tacoma that she joined the
Bethlehem Baptist Church. Ursella was a member of Bethlehem
Baptist Church for over 30 years. She was also a member of both the
Prayer Band Ministry and the Nursing Home Ministry until her health
failed her.
We called her ‘Ma”, and all who knew and loved her called her ‘Ma’
as well.
Ursella’s father and mother and five siblings preceded her in death.
Father, Cephas; Mother, Edna Hall; Brother, Arthur Albert Calvin;
Sisters, Kudora Tompson, and Estella Davis.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved son Master
Sargent Wesley Victor Hall (Bertha); one brother, William hall; four
nieces, and a host of friends
