Ursella Elizabeth Butt's Obituary
Ursella was born in Denver, Colorado to Ronald and Mildred Watts on March 13, 1923 and passed away on December 27, 2010. Ursella was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Walter. She is survived by her daughters Kate Butt and Lynda Hodgkiss, her grandson Matthew Smith, and her sister-in-law Hazel Wallace. Urs graduated from Stadium High School in 1942 and the University of Puget Sound in 1946 where she received a BA in literature and history. She was a member of many organizations including Golden Girls (Stadium), AAUW (UPS), Alpha Delta Gamma Sorority, and the Les Jardinieres Garden club. For many years Ursella worked for Darigold in Tacoma where she retired in 1985. She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, and going to the theatre. Throughout her life, Ursella showed a God given strength that was seen by those whose lives she touched. A special thank you is extended to Dani and Hazel for their devotion and love for Mom. The family requests remembrances in Ursella's name to Franciscan Hospice House at 2901 Bridgeport Way W., University Place, WA 98466. Their compassion and love helped guide her family through her final journey. A service is planned at Mt. View Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 4 at 12:00 Noon in the Aspen Chapel.
