Tyree W. Foutz's Obituary
Tyree W. Foutz
Born in Roanoke, Virginia June 5, 1936. Died peacefully at home surrounded by family November 5, 2011. Preceded in death by wife Vivian and infant son. Survived by children Desiree, Adam (Anne), Marc (Becki), Rory (Shelley), Dawn, Carl, Terry, and Todd; grandchildren: Payton, Rachel, Ben, Kelsey, Laura, and Selena. Tyree started his adult life as a dairy farmer in Maryland, as the family grew and milk prices dropped, he became a store manager for Southland Corporation (7-Eleven) in Baltimore. In the late 1960's he moved the family across the country to Tacoma, Washington where he operated his own franchised store, retiring in 1981. Ty was a people person, who always had a joke to share with anyone. He missed the daily contact of people so much, he did not stay retired long, and soon was working for his fellow franchise owners and finally retired (for the second time) in 2004 from Fred Meyer. He was active in Boy Scouting, 7-Eleven Franchise Owners Association, and the Masonic Lodge. Ty also loved to hike, read, and fish. He was a renaissance man at heart, who loved a wide variety of activities and could do anything he set his mind to. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, November 13 at 1:00 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home.
Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
