Travis Leon Zipper's Obituary
MSG Travis Leon Zipper "Zippy," born on January 6, 1965, passed away on May 13, 2008. Zippy is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Sandy, sons Matthew, Travis, and Jonathon, daughter Samantha, 3 grandchildren, mother Geraldine, brothers Clay, Dale (Pat), and David (Angie), sisters Linda, Lori (David), and Shirley (Grant), and numerous nieces and nephews. Zippy was preceded in death by his father Elwood and his sister Kay. As well as being a devoted husband and father, Zippy was a dedicated soldier in the United States Army for 24 years. Zippy made friends wherever he went. He was an athlete in many sports including hockey, softball, darts, bowling, and golf. He was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Tacoma Aerie 3. The family would like to thank the staff at the Franciscan Hospice House and the Oncology department at Madigan Army Medical Center for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Zippy and his family. Viewing will be held from 1:00pm-9:00pm on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in their Valley Chapel. Reception to follow at the Zipper home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Franciscan Hospice House.
