CDR Tommy Gene McDowell U.S. Navy Retired's Obituary
CDR Tommy Gene McDowell U.S. Navy retired, 67, passed away on December 23, 2014, in
Seattle, WA. He was born on May 13, 1947, in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Thomas E. and Virginia L. (Cook) McDowell.
Tom graduated from Clover Park High School and went on to obtain his degree in Aeurnautical Engineering through the NROTC program from the University of Washington. Tom met the love of his life, Linda Ward, while they were attending the University. They were married on June 21, 1969, in Coupeville, Washington. After graduating, Tommy went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for 22 years.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Linda; son Christopher (Mary) McDowell; daughter Gail (Dana Glasscock) McDowell; mother Virginia Grove; brother Jim McDowell; and brother Douglas (Judy) McDowell; niece Savannah McDowell and nephew Tucker McDowell.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm, Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Mountain View Funeral Home Valley Chapel. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be sent to Kitsap Community Resources to benefit the homeless.
