Tomi Moore's Obituary
Tomi Moore, Born Tomi Nishino on January 16th, 1926 to mother Kimi Nishino and Japanese farmer father Tomekichi Nishino. (Mother Died when Tomi was just 12 years old.)
Tomi Married Sgt. George H. Moore of the United States Air Force in Tachikawa Japan. Tomi and son George traveled the world with Tomi’s Career Air Force husband, George.
First Stop was Pineville, Louisiana where Tomi and son George learned about southern living and hospitality. Next they were off to St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada. The family learned about the charming and proud people of Newfoundland, Canada and where Tomi learned to love trout fishing.
From Newfoundland Sgt. Moore was reassigned to McChord AFB, Tacoma WA where the entire Moore family fell in love with the people, climate and surrounding area of the Great Northwest.
The next big move was from Tacoma, WA to Wiesbaden Germany. Three years of discovering the German and other European cultures such as Scotland, Denmark, France and The Netherlands elevated Tomi to a world traveler.
The Air Force then sent the Moore’s back to Tacoma, WA then a final overseas assignment to Japan where Sgt. Moore retired and returned to Tacoma, WA for good.
Tomi lost her husband in 1993. Tomi lived alone in their retirement home in Parkland. She was a self – sufficient for over 15 years until her dementia overtook her.
