Timothy Victor Hoard's Obituary
Timothy V. Hoard Tim was born February 5, 1947 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and grew up in Tacoma, Washington. He was the son of Ernest and Joy Hoard, and graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Geography. He spent most of his business career at Safeco Insurance. Tim retired after 35 years, then spent his summers working at Safeco Field for the Mariners. He was an avid sports fan, including NASCAR, Hawks Football, Mariners Baseball, and the Olympics. His collection of sports memorabilia is "legendary." Tim truly loved the collecting as much as the collection. Tim is survived by his wife, Sydney; his sister Dawn and her husband Doug; nephews Chad and Todd, and his husband Yael; and his son Aaron and his wife Jaime and grandson Christopher. So very important to Tim was his faith in God and in Jesus Christ. Those beliefs gave him the strength he needed to help him through many a tough time, both health-wise and in his daily life. Tim and Sydney celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on May 1, 2015. They traveled extensively throughout the world, which fulfilled one of Tim's lifelong dreams. Their last trip was shared with Aaron, Jaime and Christopher on Christopher's first visit to Disneyland. The joy Tim experienced with his family on that trip was a true blessing. Services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, on Saturday, June 6, at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in Tim's name.
