Timothy James Craig's Obituary
Timothy James Craig, 69, passed away peacefully at his home on April 21, 2023. His wife, Linda, and other family were at his bedside.
Tim was born in Puyallup, Washington on January 3, 1954 to Robert and Inez (Ellsworth) Craig. His grandparents and great-grand parents were from Northern Ireland almost to the Scotland Border. He was the fourth child of this union. He attended Gray Elementary, Stewart Jr High, and graduated in 1972 from Lincoln High School, Tacoma, WA.
Tim’s first job was delivering newspapers as a young boy on his bicycle and scooter. He learned to drive in a ’59 stick station wagon all self-taught. In 1978 he got a job at the City of Steilacoom; stayed for two years and then worked for the City of Fife beginning in 1988, retiring in 2016 after 28 years of service.
He married Elaine Stewart in 1974 and they had 2 daughters, divorced in 1980. He met his current wife, Linda, at a Parents Without Partners event in the summer of 1992, and they married in September 1993. Even after they married, they still met with some of them every week for a get together at a place to eat. He loved that.
Tim was a very gifted person; he was self-taught and could remodel any part of the house, installing whatever was needed to make it comfortable and convenient, including plumbing, electrical, windows and flooring. He liked working on cars. But most of all he liked taking their 40’ Tollycraft boat and then later the 45’ Bayliner out on Puget Sound. They did this nearly every weekend during the summer. Sometimes Tim would go out by himself. He loved it that much. They were members of Tacoma Power Squadron Boating Club, and he held the position of Commander in 2013-2014. After selling the yacht in 2019, they did some short trips in their motorhome.
Tim also dearly loved their doxies: Daffy, Noel, Bee Bee, (who have passed); and Peppy who is still here. They were/are beloved companions in their home.
Tim is survived by his wife, Linda; his children Stacy Breer (Shawn) their children, twins, Alexis and Benjamin of Puyallup; his daughter Shannon Percell (Shawn) of Puyallup their children Owen, Duncan and Parker; step-children Charlene Kendrick (Willie) of Parkland, Chester Zeller of Seattle; and Marvin Lee Zeller Jr. (Vondra) of Tacoma; His sister in law Jean-(Dan) of Alaska and their 2 boys David (thank you David for hosting Tim in June 2022 in Alaska) and Kevin. His sister-in-law Kathy (Roy) their children Ryan (Mary) and Andrea Craig Green (Dan) (Roy’s daughter). Thank you, Andrea, for being there for us. Julie Danker (Carol’s daughter that lives with Kathy); Carol’s twin boys Robby and Rick, Theron’s boy Carl. Also, many lovely nieces and nephews, close friends and other relatives, the Streich’s (cousins) and his sister-n-laws, LaDell; her son Lynn, Ruthie and her daughter and son Jonnee' and Chuck. Tim was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings: Roy, Dan, Carol (Craig) Danker, and Theron.
Tim was the best Dad that they let him be and the BEST of the BEST to Linda.
