Thomas Patrick Smith's Obituary
Thomas P. Smith Thomas P. Smith age 78, a long time Tacoma resident passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2003. Born in Billings, Montana, he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943. He attended the College of Puget Sound (now UPS) and furthered his education, graduating from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Tom was a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for Schering-Plough Corporation, retiring after 29 years. He was a very gracious man who always cared for others. Tom enjoyed walking, fishing, and watching sports and was a member of the Tacoma Elks Lodge # 174. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Theresa in 2000. We wish to thank all of the staff who assisted with the care for Tom at Franciscan Health Care Center of Tacoma. Surviving are: nephew Robert Apland (Cheryl) of University Place, WA, nieces Diana Kohler (Bill) of Federal Way, WA, Patricia McKinnon (Robert) of Greensboro, NC, Jacqueline Springer (Mike), of University Place, WA, and Mary Rogers (Jim) of Spanaway, WA. There are also many great-nieces and nephews that survive Tom. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association or Cancer Society.Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 1, 2003 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. View Celebration of Life Center, Aspen Chapel, with a reception immediately following.
