Thomas Milton BruceJuly 17th, 1931 -" January 4th, 2008Thomas Milton Bruce, husband to Annie, father to Robert, Linda, Glynis, Jeffrey and Carvedia went home to his Father's mansion on January 4, 2008. Thomas retired as foreman from the concrete construction industry after 44 years overseeing construction and installation of Curbs and Drainage Gutters at every major intersection, arterial and street throughout Tacoma and Pierce County, including the first floors at St Joseph and Tacoma General Hospital.The eldest son of Mabel Bruce and the late Mr. Willie Bruce of Royston, Georgia, Mr. Bruce arrived in Tacoma in 1954 as a Korean War US Army Veteran. Enamored with the area and a young miss, Annie Velma Bean, Thomas bought a house on Hill Top and married his sweet heart in 1957.Until his illness took all his energy, Thomas was Post Exalted Ruler of Mt Tacoma Lodge 142, Vice Commander of the American Legion 222, Masonic Lodge and a Two Term President and life member of the Caballeros Club and a life long member of Allen AME Church. Thomas enjoyed outdoor life and sharing his values, work ethic and knowledge with his caring family. A special thank you to all the wonderful people at the Renal Dialysis Unit at St Joseph's Hosptial, especially Dr Weatherby, Dr Hannigan and Dr. Joseph for the wonderful care they provided.
