Thomas Marlin Loran
Thomas M. Loran, beloved husband, father and grandfather, was born on April 18, 1924 and he went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2008. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Luella, to whom he was married nearly fifty-six years. He is also survived by his daughter Lisa Loran, his son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Nancy Loran, his granddaughter Katie Loran and her husband Mike Nichols, his granddaughter Megan Loran, his grandson Joey Loran, his sister Gloria Matz, and many other dear family members and friends. Tom was an excellent athlete and was an all-city basketball player for Lincoln High School. He served his country by fighting in the South Pacific during World War II, and in recent years by volunteering at the American Lake Veterans Administration golf course. Tom spent most of his career working for the E.I. Dupont Company, and he retired from the Weyerhaeuser Company in 1988. Tom was an active member of Manitou Park Presbyterian Church, where he served in a variety of offices over the years. Tom loved family gatherings, golfing, bowling, fishing, and reading. He was an avid sports fan and followed all of our local teams. He enjoyed seeing friends and reliving glory days at the Old Jocks luncheons. Tom's was a life well lived and he will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW., Lakewood, WA, on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Valley Chapel.
