Tom was the light of my day. when ever i would go to work and know that i got to work with Tom it was a good day. he always brighten my day. he always asked for a goodnight kiss weather day or night and he told the best jokes ever it saddens me that i will never see him again or get to sing "Hail to the bus driver" to him in the mornings. One of my strongest memories of Tom also involves John during their membership in Sunrisers Toastmasters Club. They were the program speakers for the day and planned to give a speech on the same topic, that of auto repair tips. Tom spoke in the manner of any good instructor, taking great care to provide clear, concise information on each of his tips. Then came John...same information but given in a highly humorous style. Tom sat there listening to his son, a nod here, a raised eyebrow there. When John was through, Tom's only remark was "I taught that boy well, don't you think?" It was the pride as well as the humor that Tom showed then as well as at other times when talking about his family that I remember.##imported-begin##Darleen Price##imported-end##
What a dreary world this would be without flowers. John, your Dad was a flower in the lives of many people. My Mom (almost 92) and I both remember his graciousness and easy smile from our time together in Toastmasters. Tom I have known you for over 50 years, not as many as some but a lot to others. I find it difficult to recognize your passing. Its almost like family after all this time and I will miss you and your jokes. For your family I know they will miss you even more and I would like to say how sorry I am to see this day arrive. Uncle Tom touched so many people, he was one of a very few men that you could call a "true" gentlemen. It well not be forgotten how good he was to us when we were young, and how he continued to include us in his thoughts as we were adults. Uncle Tom gave us his "time", something that is hard to give for so many of us. He truly touched us and our children's lives with his kindness. It is said that each life is a precious gift, he was just that and he well be missed. memories of him well live on forever.
