Thomas Earl Johnston's Obituary
On Saturday, August 17, 2003, Thomas Earl Johnston went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a humble, generous man of faith known for his loving kindness and quick wit. Born September 5, 1931, in Sebastopol, California, he grew up in Craig and Ketchikan, Alaska, where his family were commercial fishermen. After graduation from Pepperdine College in Los Angeles, Tom went to work for JC Penney in Inglewood, California. He retired in 1992 as store manager of JC Penney, Tacoma Mall. He was dearly loved and respected as a man of great integrity by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Claova; sons, Tom and Mark, daughters, Diane and Carol and their spouses; 20 grandchildren and their spouses; 8 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Oren and family. Visitation will be 11 A.M. to 9 P.M., Wednesday, August 20th at Mt. View Funeral Home, Tacoma, WA.Graveside services will be at 2 P.M., Thursday, August 21, 2003 at Miller Cemetery in Silverton, OR.Memorial services will be at 11 A.M., Friday, August 22, 2003 at Lakeview Church of Christ, 1709 S. 112th St., Tacoma, WA.
