Theresa Glisson, 75 of Spanaway on November 26, 2015. Beloved wife of Martin C. Theresa was born the first of two children in Los Angeles CA to her caring parents Daniel M. Bird and Naomi F. Bird (Armour). Following her early schooling years, she attended Clover Park High School and graduated from George Fox College earning her BA. After graduation she worked as a Social Worker for the Welfare Department
In 1967, Theresa married the love of her life Martin in Lakewood WA. Together they embraced life and welcomed into this world sons David, Johnathan and daughter Lisa. Her love and caring of her family allowed her to make the decision to leave her professional career and become a full time mother as an easy choice.
Theresa and Martin along with their growing family experienced the opportunity to live in several communities across the country and around the world. From 1967 forward they lived in Florida, Virgina, Ohio and the Azores before settling in Tacoma were they had lived since 1982. Most recently they moved to Spanaway WA.
Theresa was a true believer in God and Jesus. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Open Bible Church. Her favorite pastimes were reading, gospel music and spending time with her husband Martin, children, grand-children and great-granddaughter.
Theresa is survived by her beloved husband Martin of Spanaway. Devoted mother of David of Shoreline WA, Johnathan of Spanaway WA and Lisa of Lakewood WA. Also survived by her ten loving grand-children and precious great-granddaughter.
Graveside Services for Theresa will be held at 1:30/PM on Tuesday December 22, 2015 at the Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood WA 98499. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday December 10, 2015 10:00/AM - 8:00/PM. Family and friends kindly invited.
