Theodore W. Laughlin's Obituary
TED LAUGHLIN
Ted Laughlin was born October 24, 1949 to Walter and Betty Laughlin, in Wenatchee. He grew up in Centralia and Longview and went to college in Ellensburg. He lived his adult years in Centralia and Tacoma. He was especially proud of his work with Lewis County Work Opportunites and the Special Olympics. He was well known for his grantwriting skills and fundraising abilities which sent kids to Disneyland, put lights on softball fields, and supplied picnic tables for the parks of Centralia. As many know, Ted was always willing to give a hand, and he did it with a smile. Ted fought a tough battle with esophageal cancer. On Monday, January 23rd, with the snow on the ground and the sun shining through the clouds, God ended Ted's pain and took him home. Ted will be missed by many! He is survived by his wife Alice; daughters Trisha Young (Chris), Cori Moschetti (Colin); stepdaughters Camille Hamlin (Jim) Holly Dean (Chip); grandchildren (his Little Poops) Kyle, Jacee, Ben, Carter, Kate, and Arlo; and his special young friend Kelli La Du-Du. Ted also leaves his brother Mike Laughlin; sisters Sallie Watkins and Patty Laughlin; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. We would like to thank Dr. Lorrin Yee for his loving compassion-Ted said you were the best! We would also like to thank the caring staff at NW Medical Specialties for helping Ted "catch his train on time" and the wonderful people with The Franciscan Hospice. A celebration of Ted's life will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at The Lutheran Church of Christ The King, 1710 85th St E Tacoma at 11:00. A reception follows at Cassidy's Restaurant and Pub, 9621 Portland Ave, Tacoma at 1:00. Please join us for both in your "Mariners" gear! Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
