Thelma Richardson's Obituary
Thelma (Thomas) Richardson
died Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at
2:34 p.m. at her home in
Puyallup, Washington surrounded
by family members. Our dearest
Oma died after a long battle with
Alzheimer disease at the age of
102. She was born on Woodlawn
Plantation in Houma, Louisiana
on October 2, 1915 to
Washington and Elin (Moore)
Thomas. She moved to New
Orleans as a teenager and spent
her time there until the age of 87.
After the beginning stages of her Alzheimer disease she moved
to Washington to be with family until her death. She is
survived by her son Sam J. Richardson and her grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews. Anyone who knew Thelma
knew that her greatest pleasure in life was attending church and
standing in the roles of usher and treasury secretary. Our
dearest mother and grandmother will be missed and
remembered for her kindness and sage advice. She will be
joining her husband Silas Richardson and son Charles Peirce
into eternal life.
She was cared for by Brenda Knep for the last 15 years of her
life and we are so grateful to her services with treating our
grandmother with kindness and dignity.
